Thanks to a partnership with South Korea's largest exchange Bithumb, online hotel booking service Yeogi Eottae will begin accepting cryptocurrency payments, CCN reported.

The Yeogi Eottae platform, whose name translates to "What do you think of this place?" is the country's largest online hotel reservation service. Collaboration with Bithumb will likely allow the service to accept all cryptocurrencies listed on the exchange for payment.

According to Bithumb representatives, this partnership shows that South Korea is following in the footsteps of Japan and the US, where cryptocurrencies are ubiquitous as a payment option. Bithumb also stressed that South Korean companies are committed to making cryptocurrency payments as easy and convenient as possible.

"Thanks to a strategic partnership between Bithumb and the country's largest hotel booking platform Yeogi Eottae, South Korea will now follow the global trend of using cryptocurrencies as a popular payment option. Bithumb and Yeogi Eottae are discussing ways to process cryptocurrency transactions efficiently in order to make digital money as convenient as fiat payment options," Bithumb representatives noted.

Earlier ForkLog reported that South Korea's largest online retailer WeMakePrice announced support for a number of cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum.
